Ashcourt were tasked with building an extension onto the existing building of Boynton Primary School in Bridlington. This project comprised of the construction of a timber-framed, brick-clad extension, with internal works that consisted of remodelling to provide three new classrooms, a new reception area, additional WC facilities and relocation of the servery.

There were some challenges we faced due to the project being a live school environment, but having previous experience of this with many council projects, we took into consideration school term times and the safety of children in the area. As to not hinder any schooling through term time, we set up a temporary classroom during the summer holidays whilst we completed the safe demolition and rebuild of the extension.

A range of materials were used for this project including a timber framed building, brick cladding, aluminium windows , a mix of pitched and flat roofs, concrete foundations and floor slabs. Many Ashcourt divisions were involved, from concrete and aggregates to waste management and M&E. Other works on this project consisted of a boiler upgrade and a range of M&E improvements.

The project build period was 20 weeks.
