Primary Purpose of the Role The apprentice engineer will assist in offering technical advice on site for Sub contractors, craftspeople and operatives. He or she will also support the engineers in ensuring that work complies with building regulations and health and safety legislation as well as other legal requirements. They will be present on site and learning the skill of civil engineering assisting engineers and senior engineers in managing the site and parts of projects while overseeing work and ensuring quality of work. During the engineering design process, the responsibilities of the apprentice engineer may include assisting with identifying problems, conducting and narrowing research, analysing criteria, finding and analysing solutions, and making decisions.
