Plant Fitter

Primary Purpose of the Role

To maintain and repair all types of plant and machinery across the group. The Plant Fitter will be mobile and cover all sites across the regions in which Ashcourt works.

Key Accountabilities

(The key responsibilities of the role against which performance is measured)

•Maintaining records relating to maintenance of site and equipment
•Assisting with commissioning new equipment
•Repair, service and maintain plant equipment to a high standard
•Ensuring preventative maintenance is carried out
•Fit guards to machines/strip engines/ change filters and other similar duties
•Ensure adjustments are made where necessary
•Working out of hours when required
•Check over of equipment prior to hire including cleaning if required
•Company vehicles to be kept clean and in good condition in line with company policy
•Any other adhoc duties

Projects/Reporting

•Reporting maintenance/ repair work through tablet system
•Keeping the assistant Plant Manager and Plant Manager informed with any problem that may arise
•Reporting of any serious damage/ believed negligence to equipment so this can be investigated if necessary

Health & Safety Role

•Meet company standards by promoting the safety culture through observations, site standards and workplace safety
•Set a personal example with regards to Health and Safety matters
•Ensure correct PPE is worn relative to each site in which you are operating
•Ensure van checks are carried out daily
