Ashcourt were employed as principal contractor to oversee the constructon of a 2.7MW Anaerobic Digestion plant in Woodmansey near Hull. We carried out the remediation of the old greenhouse site before commencing the main build. Due to the sites proximity to a local aquifer it was not possible to install a piled solution, so we had to excavate down to 4m to suitable ground and form a reinforced concrete bund to contain the digesters and prevent any possible contamination of the aquifer. Ashcourt supplied and installed all of our own concrete for the project, including the intake building, substation and external yard areas. Because of the flood risk on site all the equipment and containers had to be kept 900mm above ground level. We did this by installing a galvanized steel platform to carry all the units. The project started in April 2019 and achieved gas to grid by the end of January 2020, meeting our Clients deadline to secure their RHI Tariff.
