The Ashcourt Group are making great progress on the Allam building at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham. Ashcourt were instructed to demolish the existing building and rebuild the new centre, making it more modernised and accessible for NHS patients. The Allam building, named after the benefactor, Assem, the previous owner of Hull City football club and has been based in the East Riding of Yorkshire since 1968. Mr Allam donated almost £8m to Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for facilities at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. An endoscopy facility was built at Hull Royal Infirmary with the Allam building at Castle Hill Hospital being a mirrored building to provide the research and facilities for the treatment of digestive diseases. The buildings will be identical and a true reflection of the outstanding contribution from Mr Allam. The envelope of the building is currently being worked on and the next part of the project will see a start on the lift install. Ashcourt also completed the Complex Rehabilitation Unit at Castle Hill Hospital last year. The divisions that Ashcourt dedicated to this project were Demolition, Civil Engineering, Plant Hire, Concrete and Construction who worked cohesively to ensure the project timeline was achieved. Our team are working on another project at Castle Hill Hospital building a new Day Surgery which is also making some exciting progress. The project is split into two areas, a Day Surgery Unit and a waste compound to the rear of the Day Surgery Unit. Progress on both areas is well underway.
