To honour and commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings on Thursday 6thJune, our concrete division recently assisted Councillor Stephen Mcmillan and Pocklington Town Council with the placement of the towns first Beacon on Queen Elizabeth ll playing Field, West Green.
The event is part of a national initiative and will involve synchronised lighting of beacons throughout the country at 9.15pm, giving communities a chance to reflect upon, and pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifices made during the D-day landings.
