Ashcourt Group Strengthens Regional Operations with Acquisition of Two New Quarries

Ashcourt Group is pleased to announce the acquisition of two additional quarry sites, further strengthening our regional operating model and supporting the continued growth of our aggregate supply across West Yorkshire, Hull and East Yorkshire.

The acquisition includes Newthorpe Quarry, a limestone quarry located within our West Yorkshire region, and Swinescaif Quarry, a chalk quarry based within our Hull & East Yorkshire region. These strategic additions increase our mineral reserves, improve regional coverage and provide a stronger platform from which we serve customers across key construction and infrastructure markets.

The purchase of Newthorpe Quarry represents a significant development for our West Yorkshire operation. With strong access to the A1, the site is well positioned to support customers across the region and beyond, offering improved logistical efficiency and greater flexibility in the supply of limestone products.

This enhanced positioning is expected to deliver clear operational benefits. By increasing the availability of locally sourced materials within the West Yorkshire region, we can reduce haulage distances, improve delivery responsiveness and provide a more economical service to customers. For contractors, developers, local authorities and infrastructure partners, this strengthens confidence in product availability, supply continuity and overall service performance.
Newthorpe Quarry will supply a comprehensive range of limestone products, including:

•	DOT Type 1
•	125/75mm Clean Limestone
•	75mm Clean Limestone
•	40mm Clean Limestone
•	20mm Clean Limestone
•	10mm Clean Limestone
•	Limestone Dust
•	6F5

These products will support a wide range of applications, including sub-base construction, drainage, capping, bulk fill, site preparation and general construction works. The ability to supply these materials from a strategically located site reinforces Ashcourt Group’s commitment to providing reliable, efficient and regionally focused aggregate solutions.
Commenting on the acquisition, Adam Brown, Managing Director (Yorkshire & Lincolnshire), said:

“The acquisition of Newthorpe Quarry represents a significant step forward in strengthening our presence across our core operating regions. It aligns closely with our strategic objective to enhance our geographic coverage, improve resilience within our supply chain, and better serve our customers with locally sourced materials. This investment reinforces our long-term commitment to sustainable growth and operational capability across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.”

The acquisition of Swinescaif Quarry further strengthens our Hull & East Yorkshire operation by adding a strategically positioned chalk quarry to our regional network. This addition supports the Group’s wider objective of improving local supply capability, increasing operational resilience and ensuring customers have dependable access to materials from well-placed sites.

Together, Newthorpe Quarry and Swinescaif Quarry represent a considered investment in the long-term strength of Ashcourt Group’s regional aggregate operations. The acquisitions support a broader strategy focused on increasing supply security, improving transport efficiency and strengthening our ability to respond to market demand across the regions we serve. As regional demand for high-quality construction materials continues, these acquisitions provide Ashcourt Group with greater control over supply, improved operational flexibility and enhanced capacity to support projects of varying scales. They also reinforce our commitment to investing in assets that deliver long-term value for the business, our customers and the wider regional construction sector.

The purchase of Newthorpe Quarry and Swinescaif Quarry marks another positive step in the ongoing growth of Ashcourt Group. By strengthening our regional presence and improving the efficiency of our supply network, we continue to position the business for sustainable growth while maintaining our focus on service, reliability and operational excellence.
