Ashcourt Concrete is now a local supplier of the new and innovative Aeromix concrete that is taking the industry by storm.
We have recently supplied 48m2 of the mix to a customer in Hull as the insulation layer in a new house, ready for underfloor heating to be installed. Our trucks dispatched the concrete into a concrete line pump where it was easily placed into the desired areas and has a foam like texture, which has a greater reduction in bleeding. The laying process is the same as a normal concrete mix by using a screed and dabble bar to set it into place.
The mix itself is a composite insulation layer that consists of a mixture of three components which are EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), cement and aerobinder. It is a much more ecological product compared to standard concrete mixes as only 80kg of concrete per m3 is used, therefore increasing efficiency and pumpability to 1,000m2 a day.
It has the best insulation value in the world, in its sector, with 0.037W/mk and a minimum compressive strength of 110kPa. Another benefit is it’s much easier to clean out concrete mixers due to the lower cement consumption.
